Adi part 3 training
Adi Part 3 Training - Become a driving instructor
The object of the adi part 3 test is to assess the quality of your instruction and your ability to pass your knowledge on to pupils. The test is in two parts, each of which lasts about half an hour. You must pass both parts on the same test.
At your adi part 3, You will be asked to demonstrate your knowledge and ability by giving practical driving instruction to the examiner who will first take on the role of a pupil who is a beginner, or a learner driver with limited driving knowledge, and then a pupil who is about test standard. The examiner will explain everything to you at the time.
Adi part 3 exercises
For each of the two roles the examiner will choose one of the exercises given below as the basis of the instruction:
• safety precautions on entering the car and explanation of the controls
• moving off and making normal stops
• reversing and reversing into limited openings to the right or left
• turning the vehicle round in the road to face the opposite direction, using forward and reverse gears
• parking close to the kerb, using forward and reverse gears
• how to make an emergency stop and practical instruction in the use of mirrors
• approaching and turning corners
• judgement of speed, making progress and general road positioning
• dealing with road junctions
• dealing with crossroads
• dealing with pedestrian crossings and giving correct signals in a clear and unmistakable manner
• overtaking, meeting and crossing the path of other road users, allowing adequate clearance
The instruction you give should be tailored to the time available and to the standard of the ‘pupil’ being role-played by the examiner. You will probably find it helpful to establish the depth of the ‘pupil’s’ knowledge in each phase, by asking questions and observing the ‘pupil’s’ performance as you would with a real pupiyou had not taught before.
How will I be assessed?
In assessing your performance, the examiner will take into account:
• the method, clarity, adequacy and correctness of instruction given
• the observation, analysis and correction of faults committed by the pupil
• your general manner
You will be expected to maintain control of the lesson, be patient and tactful and give encouragement to the ‘pupil’ at all times. What is assessed is the relevance of the instruction for the ability of the pupil and to the particular conditions on the road on the day of the test.
Part 3 Training
The key to success is the quality and quantity of your adi part 3 training. Notice we said QUANTITY. Why? Because anyone who needs part 3 training, needs to be given there training on a one to one basis. The national driving schools and colleges DO NOT do this, and one thing is for sure you will not pass! The amount of adi part 3 training we give to students who have already spent thousands with these place is astounding. We hear of trainers taking 2 or 3 people per car!!
This means that only 20 or even 13 hours of your adi part 3 training is actually spent on you.
We do all our training on a one to one basis!
So whether you are on a full course or you have already failed your adi part 3 and just need extra training, why not give us a call today and let us help you.
Adi Part 3 Recovery Training
For those who are needing extra adi part 3 training or who have failed an adi part 3 test.
- Fed up of taking coffee breaks during your training?
- Annoyed that you spend most of your training session watching someone else?
- Let down by always covering the same pst in your training?
- Ever been asked to use your training to allow someone in the back to watch?
- Feel unsure of what is needed to pass your adi part 3 test?
- Ever been told to do the test so you know what to expect?
- Taken the test hoping you don't get pst .........?
When it come to adi part 3 training it is sad that many of the national driving schools and training colleges favour adi training on a 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1 basis. What this means is at the end of someone's adi part 3 training, realistically the most they have done is 20 hours and one thing is virtually guaranteed, you WILL NOT pass your part 3 test with 20 hours training!! We do all of our adi part 3 training on a 1 - 1 basis. This way your training is centred fully on you and your strengths and weaknesses, and not on watching someone else and their problems.

Adi Part 3
If any of the above apply to you, then don't feel all is lost, we at Driver Training Ltd can help you to put it right! Our adi part 3 training is all done in car and not in classrooms or coffee points. We go through it step by step and we don't move on, until you fully understand what is required and are starting to do it.
The key to passing your adi part 3 is knowledge. Knowledge equals confidence and confidence equals control. Control on your adi part 3 test equals a pass! It's as simple as that.
For example on your adi part 3 test, if you know for certain that a road is 20 mph limit and there are speed cameras every 30 feet and the examiner said "this road is a 60 mph limit and that's what i'm going to do." You would without fail tell him...
"it isn't and there is no way in this world you are going over 20 mph, and getting us caught by the speed cameras, even if i have to keep my foot on the dual control, this car is not going over 20!!!"
Why? Because you are confident about the speed limit, you know you are 100% right and because of that you are in control of the situation!
However on your adi part 3 when it comes to reversing around the corner to your right, are you as confident about the briefing? Confident about the focal points the pupil needs to help him around? Confident about what you need to look for, so that you know how far from the kerb he is? Chances are, if we being totally honest, that you're not and that is where the problem lies. Not always with you but with your training or your trainer.
